Nalini Singh

Nalini Singh

Urban Fantasy Archangel's ConsortSo, this series falls more under the Paranormal Romance category, but the Guild Hunter series does have several facets of Urban Fantasy.  Plus, I absolutely ADORE these books.  Ergo, I must share them.

The image featured to the left is the cover of Nalini Singh’s third Guild Hunter novel.  The novels start with Angel’s Blood – a heart-pumping story about Elena Devereaux and the imperical and somewhat arrogant Archangel of New York, Raphael.

Nalini Singh has such a talent for creating unique and compelling characters – far removed from the boring traditional a-typical romance characters that make you want to yawn…. “been there done that.”  Elena Devereaux is wildly entertaining and I still find myself laughing out loud at her snarky comebacks and quick wit.

Aside from the humor, these novels are bad-ass and ridiculously sexy.  Nalini Singh flawlessly creates a world of vampires, guild hunters who keep them in check, and the angels that control them.

Here is quote from Nalini Singh’s website:

Nalini Singh steps back into the shadows of her “heartbreakingly original”* world where angels rule, vampires serve, and the innocent can pay the greatest price of all…

Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil…

A vampire has attacked a girls’ school—the assault one of sheer, vicious madness—and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders.

The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear.

An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed…
